Después de una devastadora epoca para la marca alemana Volkswagen y con el poco exito que tuvo el Passat, se empezaron a abrir los rumores acerca de que está sería la última generación del sedán, pero hoy ha salido que la marca alemana ha dado luz verde para seguir trabajando en un vehículo que se dice que será la nueva generación del Passat y que además ya tiene un avance relativo. Incluso la marca planea traer como estamos acostumbrados un vehículo a combustión interna, con una variante tanto híbrida enchufable como una completamente eléctrica. Volkswagen planea hacer del Passat un vehículo mas familiar, para así separarlo del Arteon y marcar una gran diferencia entre ambos modelos, ya que el Arteon es un vehículo más para el día a día, incluso se habla de que la marca coninue con la variante de vagoneta y probablemente con la Alltrack. Por último se espera que sr presente a finales de 2022 para así llegar a sus respectivos mercados en 2023.
