Ya hace un tiempo la firma alemana Mercedes presentó lo que fue la nueva generación del Mercedes SL, a causa de eso el mismo fue muy criticado debido a que perdió la esencia del deportivismo que este brindaba, pero hoy la marca quiere cambiar eso.
Después de que la marca dejó de un lado el deportivismo, lo cuál fue la principal característica de la primera generación, está salida en 1952, muy conocida por las puertas de “ala de gaviota”, Mercedes quiere retomar esa idea, es decir, la marca asegura que esta generación será muy diferente comparada con las anteriores, aun así sin dejar de lado el confort que destaca de este vehículo.
El objetivo de Mercedes para esta generación del mismo es aumentar la eficiencia y reducir los costes, por lo que se dice que compartirá plataforma con el AMG GT, lo que le permitirá tener una versión con un sistema híbrido con una batería de 48V y cuentan con la posibilidad de suplir el techo del vehículo por uno de lona para reducir el peso y el costo del vehículo.
Hablando del motor, este contará con dos opciones, un motor V8 y uno de seis cilindros en línea, ambas como el motor ubicado en la central delantera del vehículo, además todas las versiones incluirán una caja automática de doble embrague, ubicada en el eje trasero.
Por último el SL se fabricará junto al AMG GT en la planta de Sindelfingen, Alemania, sin embargo esta no comenzará hasta mediados de 2021.

Speaking of the engine, it will have two options, a V8 engine and a six-cylinder in-line engine, both like the engine located in the front center of the vehicle, in addition all versions will include an automatic double clutch box, located on the rear axle. .
Finally, the SL will be manufactured alongside the AMG GT at the Sindelfingen plant, Germany, however this will not start until mid-2021.
