Empezamos un nuevo año y como consecuencia de ello cerramos uno más, es por ello que no solo nos dan ansias lo que nos vendrá este 2021, sino que nos emocionan los resultados que se obtuvieron del pasado 2020.
Es por ello que una parte importante de ello es el Coche del año en Europa 2020, destacando al coche que se pudo por encima de todos los demás en el pasado año, premio que se tomó lugar por primera vez en 1964, dando como primer ganador el Rover 200, esto llegando hasta el 2019 con el Peugeot 208 y hasta este año.
Este año se enfrentan cosas muy interesantes, ya a inicios de diciembre pudimos ver los 29 nominados, para que este mes de enero nos presenten los 7 finalistas y para que el 1 de marzo de forma online, un grupo de 60 periodistas de 23 países diferentes elijan al ganador de este premio.
Entre los siete finalistas podemos encontrar al:

- CUPRA Formentor
- Fiat 500e
- Land Rover Defender
- Skoda Octavia
- Toyota Yaris
- Volkswagen ID.3
Siendo estos los 7 finalistas podemos destacar dos puntos, la primera de ellas es la inclusión de dos modelos totalmente eléctricos, siendo estos el Fiat 500e y el Volkswagen ID.3.
El segundo punto a destacar es el dominio del grupo Volkswagen en esta lista, teniendo así 3 de 7 vehículos en esta lista, siendo estos el CUPRA Formentor, el Skoda Octavia y el Volkswagen ID.3, teniendo así casi el 50% de los finalistas en el premio de este año, algo que casi ningún grupo puede lograr.
Además cabe destacar que entre los finalistas no observamos el dominio de kas SUV, ya que tenemos una máxima diversificación, teniendo un crossover, un urbano, un utilitario, un compacto, una berlina, una SUV y un todoterreno.
Para finalizar nada más recordar que el ganador se dará el 1 de Marzo de este 2021, siendo producto de una votación de 60 periodistas, por lo que solo queda esperar y ver quien se llevará el premio.
